About the Rhodes Trust

Progress comes from new thinking. And that takes new combinations of ideas, skills, perspectives and cultures. When different people come together in a shared spirit, exciting new things begin. That’s the magic of the un-like-minded.
Rhodes House is the home of the Rhodes Scholarship programme. For more than a century we’ve brought people of character from around the world to Oxford University to study, in a spirit of kindliness, unselfishness and fellowship. They’ve become a lifelong community of leaders in the service of humanity.
Now, we’re a global family of five programmes, funded entirely by philanthropy, reaching every age group from teenagers to experienced professionals. Our partner programmes include:

  • The Atlantic Institute, which connects seven Atlantic Fellows programmes, building a catalytic community of emerging leaders, working for fairer, healthier, more inclusive societies.
  • The Schmidt Science Fellows, which develops the next generation of science leaders to transcend disciplines, advance discovery, and solve the world's most pressing problems.
  • Rise, which focusses on the next generation of talent by identifying and supporting young, rising leaders around the world.

We’re a diverse and open community of 7000. We’re un-like-minded, but like-hearted: united in pursuit of a future that’s better for everyone.
